Brian is the proprietor of the store along with his wife Sharon. Brian has been in the retail tackle industry for about 25 years working part time in tackle stores before taking on the challenge of owning his own. He started fishing in England before moving to Australia when he was 14 years old. His love of fishing was for the rivers and streams but on arriving in Australia discovered the ease of access to sea fishing and then on to boat fishing. Brian joined the Super Elliott Angling Club as a Junior and went on to be Junior and Senior Club Champion. He has been a State Champion Angler and State Champion Team Member. He is also a life member of the Club. Brian is also a founding member of the Copper Coast Angling Club. You will often find Brian fishing at the marina, on a beach or the rocks.
Malcolm is the son of Brian and Sharon and has been fishing since he could walk. As a youngster he could always be found on the Wallaroo Jetty fishing and showing one of his mates how it was done. He started working in the shop when he was 11 years old after school and on school holidays. He would go out fishing with the Pro Fishermen and Prawn Fishermen to gain sea hours to obtain his coxswains certificate. He went on to do Aquaculture and set up the Aquaculture Centre at the Kadina Memorial High School for all the following students to use. Malcolm’s experience with the fishing industry has given him a greater knowledge of Marine Electronics. He specialises in helping customers from the fishing rod and reel to the GPS or Radar for the boat. Malcolm is also a member of the Copper Coast Angling Club and has been the Club Champion for several years.
John has been a keen fisherman from a young age. His love of Land Base Game fishing introduced him to the art of Custom Rod Building. John has developed this art over the last 5 years and now has a good reputation as a Rod Builder. Rod blank including Sabre, Samurai and Snyder Glass to name a few are on Johns work list. John’s work can be seen in the store under the name of Copper Coast Custom Rods. Rod and Reel repairs are his specialty and if there is anything you need advice on about what type of rod to use for a specialised type of fishing John is the man to ask. He now spends a lot of his spare time boat fishing and is also an active member of the Copper Coast Angling Club.
